
Overview
Every year, the American Advertising Federation takes submissions for a poster to advertise their student portfolio review event, "Preflight."
This project was used as a way to build my typography and layout skills by being my first venture into utilizing experimental typography.
This project began as an assignment in my Typography and Layout course, which naturally led me to consider trying something new and bold with my use of text and hierarchy.

As my typographic decisions became clear, I started to define a visual identity to accompany them. This resulted in an aged parchment look, with the event location visible in the background.

After production had been completed, the final product was sent off to AAF for judging during the 2026 ADDY Awards show, where it won a Gold ADDY in the Out of Home & Ambient Media category.
